Choosing a Uneekor Simulator Package: Sensor, Mounting Spot and Room, in That Order

Uneekor golf simulator packages sorted by sensor and mounting spot: floor units, roll-up overhead bays and full enclosures, with room sizes and plan costs.

Buying Guides

Uneekor sells the same handful of sensors inside a lot of different bundles, so the choice that matters most is the sensor, not the enclosure. Five sensors show up across the packages on this page, and they differ in where they mount, how many cameras they use, whether they need club stickers or marked balls, and whether a left-hander and a right-hander can share the setup without moving anything. Get the sensor right and the room decision mostly follows from it.

This page sorts eight Uneekor packages into four groups by mounting spot and screen type: two floor-sensor packages, one compact overhead bay, two overhead units with roll-up screens, and three overhead units in full enclosures. Prices are the figures listed by the maker or the retailer at the time of writing, and they move, so treat them as a starting point. Room minimums, plan costs and mounting requirements each get their own section, because that is where most buyers run into trouble after the box arrives.

If you only read two sections, read the one on stickers and marked balls and the ceiling mounting steps. Those decide whether a package works for the people who will actually use it, and package listings tend to skip both.

How we put this together: we compared published manufacturer specs, retailer listings and owner reports, then applied the criteria below. Links may earn us a commission.

The five Uneekor sensors side by side

Every package here is built around one of five sensors. The table puts them in the same columns so the trade-offs are easy to compare. Where the published listings leave a detail out, the cell says so rather than guessing.

Uneekor's lineup runs from the MINI LITE to the MINI, then the XO, the XO2 and finally the XR, which the maker positions as its AI-tracking option. That order reflects how the line is arranged, not a ranking of quality. Each step trades something different. The floor units cost less and can be moved, but they have to be repositioned for a second golfer. The ceiling units stay in place and need no club stickers, and the XO2 also drops the need for marked balls. The XR goes furthest by removing both stickers and marked balls, at the cost of a rear mount and a listed room that is narrower than the XO2 needs.

The XO Retractable and SwingBay both use the XO sensor, so the spin requirement for marked balls applies to them as well. The XO2 Garage, SIG12 and Performance Optix all use the XO2 family, which is why they share the no-marker behaviour.

Floor unit or ceiling unit: a quick decision tree

  • Outdoor use, or moving the setup between spaces: a floor unit such as the EYE MINI is the practical choice.
  • Left-handed and right-handed golfers in the same house: a ceiling unit such as the XO2 or XR, since neither has to be moved between sessions.
  • No ceiling access, or you rent: a floor unit avoids any ceiling work.
  • Ceiling under 9 ft: the XR SIG8 lists an 8 ft minimum, but confirm that figure with the maker before relying on it. If the ceiling is lower than that, a floor unit is the safer route.

How we grouped the eight packages

We sorted the packages with five criteria, weighted by how much each one tends to decide whether a buyer ends up happy with the purchase. Sensor capability for the buyer's goal carries the most weight at 30%. The five sensors differ in camera count, club data, marker needs and hitting zone, and those differences shape practice value more than the enclosure does. Room fit and mounting work comes next at 25%, since ceiling units need joists, cabling and a minimum height, while floor units need open space beside the ball.

Household fit gets 15%. Overhead units serve golfers on either side without moving, floor units have to be repositioned, and a retractable screen frees the room when it rolls away. Software plan and running cost takes 20%, because course play and advanced analytics depend on paid Uneekor plans or third-party software once trials end. Completeness of the bundle takes the final 10%. Some packages include a projector, turf and cabling, while others leave the projector as an extra cost you add later.

We applied those criteria to published specs, retailer listings and owner reports. We haven't attached numeric scores to the packages, because the weights are a way of organizing the decision, not a measured result. Each pick label names the buyer that package suits instead. The four groups are floor sensor packages, compact overhead, overhead with roll-up screen, and overhead in full enclosure. If your household has both left- and right-handed golfers, the setups for left and right handed golfers guide compares the wider field.

Packages built on a floor sensor

Floor sensors sit on the ground beside the ball. That makes them the least expensive way into a Uneekor simulator and the easiest to move. The trade-off is handedness. A floor unit sits on one side of the ball, so a left-handed golfer has to shift it to the other side, and so does anyone else in the house who swings from the opposite hand. Both packages in this group use the EYE MINI sensor, which needs club stickers for club data.

Uneekor EYE MINI Golf Net Package: data that travels to the backyard

The Golf Net Package starts at $4,729.99, which makes it the lowest entry price on this page. The footprint is about 10 x 10 x 10 ft, though the exact figure depends on the net you choose. You can pick a 10 x 7 ft rounded or rectangular net, a 10 x 10 x 10 ft cage, or the SIGPRO net, which has an impact screen that works with projection.

Because the sensor is a floor unit, the package suits a backyard or patio. It comes with a carry case and strap, so the sensor can move indoors when the weather turns. VIEW software runs on a PC or an iPad and gives you overlays, a 3D view and replay. A power cable and a CAT6 Ethernet cable are in the box, and a mat is an optional extra.

Where the Golf Net Package falls short

The package doesn't include course play out of the box. E6 Connect and TGC 2019 are the third-party options listed, and you add them separately, so price them in before you buy if you want virtual courses from the first session. Club data also depends on the club stickers, which means replacement cost over time. The outdoor simulator options roundup covers weather, power and portability for outdoor setups in more depth.

Uneekor EYE MINI LITE PerfectBay: a full enclosure at the lowest enclosed price

The PerfectBay starts at $5,599, which makes it the least expensive fully enclosed option on this page. It comes in three enclosure sizes: the standard PerfectBay, the larger PerfectBay PLUS, and the PerfectBay WIDE, which uses a 16

layout. Room size depends on the version you choose, so check the exact dimensions for that model before you order.

The sensor is the same family as the EYE MINI, with dual high-speed cameras and Club Optix, so club stickers are needed. The triple-layer impact screen is listed with quieter impacts. The package includes the Net Return Pro Turf mat, along with setup and calibration guides. The software works with GSPro, Refine+ and GameDay.

The package also includes a three-month Champion plan trial that covers Uneekor View and PowerU Reports. After that, keeping those features means paying for a plan, so the software costs in the plan section below apply from month four onward.

Where the PerfectBay falls short

The connection is wired throughout, with wired power and a wired PC, and there is no wireless option. Plan the cable run before you pick the spot. A Windows PC is part of this package, which rules out the iPad route that the EYE MINI supports. If you are weighing a floor unit against a different launch monitor, the SkyTrak+ compared with EYE MINI comparison covers the same kind of decision in more detail.

A compact overhead package for narrow rooms

The XR SIG8 has the narrowest room width listed for any overhead package on this page, at 9 ft. If your room is tight from wall to wall, this is the first overhead package to check. The packages for 10 ft wide rooms roundup covers more options for rooms in that range.

Uneekor EYE XR SIG8: AI club tracking with no stickers

The XR SIG8 starts at $8,699 and reaches $16,142 once add-ons are included. The listed minimum room is 9 ft wide by 8 ft high. The package also lists a 5 ft depth, but that figure looks like the enclosure depth alone, so measure the full room depth before you buy.

The sensor uses dual high-speed cameras with AI tracking and reports 19 ball and club data points. Because the club is tracked by AI, the package needs no club stickers and no marked balls. The sensor mounts to the rear and connects over PoE (power over Ethernet), so a single cable carries both power and data. The maker gives the rear mount position as a rough guide, so confirm the exact placement before you drill anything.

The enclosure is the SIG8, with a powder-coated steel frame and a tight-knit polyester screen. The maker lists about 80% image fill in HD. You can choose a Fairway Series or SIGPro mat. The listing mentions landing turf, Ethernet and mounting hardware alongside the mat choice, so check which of those are in the box. The projector is optional, so add its cost if you don't already own one.

All four Uneekor plans work with the XR: Player, Pro, Champion and Ultimate. The Ultimate tier adds the AI Trainer and GameDay. Setup may need a professional, which is worth building into the budget.

Where the XR SIG8 falls short

Room height is the main concern. The listing gives 8 ft, which is below the 9 ft most overhead packages here list and below the 9 ft general room advice. The 8 ft figure is worth confirming with the maker before you rely on it. A driver under a low ceiling is the real test, so take a few slow practice swings at the hitting spot with the ceiling height in mind.

If you are comparing the XR with the XO2, the XO2 against EYE XR breakdown sets out the sensor differences side by side. The Uneekor AI Trainer review covers what the Ultimate tier adds.

Overhead packages with a screen that rolls away

Both packages in this group use an overhead sensor with a screen that rolls up when you are not hitting. The sensor stays on the ceiling when the screen rolls away, so there is no unit to move between sessions. That suits a room that also has to work as something else, such as a family room or a spare room with furniture. The retractable simulator packages roundup covers other retractable options.

Uneekor EYE XO Retractable Package: a roll-up screen for shared rooms

The XO Retractable starts at $11,399. The room minimum is 9 ft high, 12 ft wide and 14 ft deep. The HomeCourse enclosure opens to 10.5 ft wide and 8.5 ft high, and its woven polyester is ballistic-grade. By our math, the screen takes up 1.5 ft less width than the 12 ft room minimum, so the listed room has some slack beside the open screen.

The sensor is the EYE XO photometric camera system. The listing's description of where the XO sits in this package is unclear, so confirm the mounting position with the maker before you plan the ceiling work. The kit includes a SwingTurf mat in either 5 x 5 or 4 x 9 ft, a 4,000-lumen 1080p laser short-throw projector, a 25 ft HDMI cable, steel ceiling plates and instructions. Landing turf and a simulator laptop are optional. The software is Uneekor's own, and the listing names GSPro, E6 and TGC 2019 as compatible options.

Where the XO Retractable falls short

The price is the main drawback, starting at $11,399 before landing turf or a laptop. The mounting position of the sensor also needs confirming, as noted above, which adds a step before you can plan the install.

Uneekor EYE XO2 Garage Package: a ceiling roll-up sized to the garage door

The Garage Package starts at $11,599.99 and fits garage doors between 8 and 16 ft wide. The EYE XO2 uses three high-speed infrared cameras and covers a 28 x 21 in hitting zone. It reads all ball types without marked balls, and because the sensor is overhead, golfers on either side can use it without repositioning.

The G-TRAK roll-up screen comes with a wireless remote. The package includes a SIGPRO 6 x 10 turf, an Optoma ZW350ST short-throw projector, a 25 ft HDMI cable, a mounting bracket, calibration tools and power cables. A mat is optional. Software support covers GSPro, E6 Connect and Uneekor View.

Before you pick the mounting spot, check the path of the garage door as it opens. The roll-up screen and the sensor both need space the door doesn't cross, and it is far easier to catch a clash on paper than after installation. For more on garage setups, the garage simulator setups roundup compares other options.

The main drawback is price, which sits at the top of the screen-based group.

Full-enclosure overhead bays for dedicated rooms

These three packages suit rooms given over to golf full time. They are fixed enclosures, so the room is no longer available for other uses once it is installed. If the budget here is too high, the simulators under $10,000 roundup covers a wider range of options.

Uneekor EYE XO SwingBay: the XO in a blackout enclosure

The SwingBay starts at $12,300. The listed room minimum is 9 ft high, 12 ft wide and 16 ft deep. The 16 ft depth is the figure to measure first, since it is the one most likely to rule out a room you were hoping to use.

The EYE XO is ceiling-mounted and uses dual high-speed infrared cameras. The listing gives 20+ data points, including ball speed, spin axis, club path and attack angle. The spin figures need marked balls, so confirm the current requirement with Uneekor. The enclosure has blackout side panels and a heavy-duty impact screen. The package includes a SwingTurf mat in 5 x 5 or 4 x 9 ft, a 1080p, 4,000-lumen short-throw projector with a ceiling mount, and a 25 ft HDMI cable. GSPro and Uneekor software are listed as compatible. Landing turf, a laptop and screen upgrades are add-ons.

Where the SwingBay falls short

Ceiling mounting may need structural preparation. If the ceiling joists won't comfortably carry a ceiling-mounted sensor and projector, budget for a contractor before you order. The listing doesn't cover which joists or load ratings apply, so get that checked on site.

Uneekor EYE XO2 SIG12: three cameras in a 12-foot enclosure

The SIG12 has the widest price range on this page, running from $14,299 to $28,009. The final figure depends on the options you choose, so ask for an itemized quote before you compare it with the others.

The minimum room is 12 ft wide, 18 ft long and 9 ft high. The enclosure itself is 9 ft 4 in high and 12 ft 2 in wide. By our math, that means the listed minimums are smaller than the enclosure, so a room measuring exactly 9 ft high and 12 ft wide will not fit it. Plan for at least 9 ft 4 in of height and 12 ft 2 in of width, with room left over for ceiling mounts and cables.

The sensor has three cameras and reads club and ball data without marked balls. It handles both handedness without moving. The enclosure has an aluminium frame and a handcrafted impact screen with full HD image fill. You choose the mat from several options, and landing turf, cables, ceiling mounts and Ethernet are also listed. The projector is optional, so the base price does not include one.

Plans run from the free Player tier up to Ultimate. The listing says Champion or Ultimate is needed for third-party sim play, so check that point for the exact tier you plan to use. GSPro and TGC 2019 are the third-party options listed.

Where the SIG12 falls short

The cost is the obvious issue, and the projector and plan come on top of the base price. The room size is the second issue, as described above. If your room is close to the minimum, measure the height and width at the spot where the enclosure will sit, not just the room's overall dimensions.

Uneekor EYE XO2 Performance Optix: video and force plate for instruction

The Performance Optix package is listed at $23,376, down from $24,944, and it is sold by Carl's Place. The enclosure kit is listed at 10 x 13 x 8 ft. That is the size of the enclosure kit, not the full room requirement, so confirm the room needs with the seller before you buy. The 8 ft height is lower than the 9 ft most overhead packages here list, so the kit may suit a lower room, but check that with the seller.

Video and pressure data are the point of this package. Swing Optix cameras record the swing from more than one angle, and the Balance Optix mat measures weight transfer and vertical force. The sensor is the EYE XO2 with Swing Optix cameras added.

The enclosure is a Carl's 10x13x8 Pro Enclosure Kit with a C-Series screen that runs from floor to fairway. The projector is a BenQ LK936ST 4K UHD short-throw with lens shift. The hitting mat is Carl's HotShot, with fairway, rough and sand zones.

This package suits instructors and studios more than home players. If you coach others, the simulators for coaches guide covers the commercial side of that decision.

Where the Performance Optix falls short

The price is beyond most home budgets. The video and force features only pay off if you will use them every session. A home player who wants the XO2 sensor without the extras can look at the XO2 Garage or the SIG12, which use the same sensor family without the Swing Optix and Balance Optix additions.

Stickers, marked balls and what each sensor asks of you

Club stickers and marked balls are the part of a Uneekor package that most listings leave out, and they add a running cost. Check the requirements before you choose a sensor, since they affect how you practice in every session, not just the first one.

  • EYE MINI and MINI LITE: club stickers are needed for club data. Ball data works without stickers.
  • EYE XO: marked balls are needed for the spin figures. Confirm the current requirement with Uneekor, since the published listings don't settle it.
  • EYE XO2: reads all ball types, so no marked balls are needed.
  • EYE XR: no ball marks and no club stickers.
  • Replacements: budget for replacement stickers and marked balls. The maker doesn't publish those prices in the listings we compared, so check with Uneekor or your retailer.
  • Upkeep: keep stickers aligned to the maker's guidance, and replace them once they wear.

Uneekor software plans and the true yearly cost

Every package on this page comes with a software choice, and the plan you pick matters most once any trial ends. Uneekor's plans run from a free Player tier through Pro, Champion and Ultimate. The listings give plan features but not current plan prices for every tier, so we haven't put plan costs into a total. Check the current prices on Uneekor's site before you budget.

Player includes core data and range use. Third-party sim play and the advanced features depend on Champion or Ultimate, though that point should be checked for each package. Champion includes Uneekor View and PowerU Reports. Ultimate adds the AI Trainer and GameDay.

Because the plan prices aren't in the listings, we haven't built a three-year total. The arithmetic is simple once you have the numbers: take the entry price, add three years of the plan you need, then add any third-party software you run alongside it. For a broader look at how these fees work across brands, the software subscription models guide is the place to start.

Ceiling mounting and room prep for overhead units

Six packages on this page are overhead units, so each needs ceiling work. The steps below follow the order most installs take, from finding joists through to PC setup. The maker's installation guide controls the details, and any structural work should go to a professional.

  1. Find the joists and confirm they can carry the load. Fix the sensor and any bracket to structure, not to the ceiling board. The XO Retractable package includes steel ceiling plates for this purpose.
  2. Mark the sensor position from the hitting spot. Work out where the ball sits and where the sensor needs to look, then mark that point on the ceiling before you drill.
  3. Level the mounting. Check the sensor and bracket are level before you fix them permanently, since a tilted sensor throws off the readings you were paying for.
  4. Plan the cable runs. The XR uses PoE, so one Ethernet cable carries power and data. The XO2 and SIG12 also list Ethernet. Several packages here include a 25 ft HDMI cable, so measure the run from the projector to the PC or laptop before you order.
  5. Check the ceiling height against your driver. Most listings ask for 9 ft. A tall golfer swinging a driver needs more room above the hitting spot than the minimum gives, so take the measurement while standing in your normal address position. The golf simulator ceiling height guide covers the numbers in more detail.
  6. Confirm the PC. VIEW and the third-party software both need a PC that meets their requirements. The PC requirements guide lists what to check.
  7. Decide early whether you need an installer. Structural preparation and finished ceilings are the usual reasons to bring in a professional. Budget for that before the package arrives, because it changes the total cost of the install.

When a different brand may suit you better

Uneekor isn't the right answer for every room or budget. These are the situations where another route is likely to make more sense.

  • If your budget is under about $4,700: none of the Uneekor packages here fit. The simulators under $5,000 roundup covers the lower end of the market.
  • If you want outdoor full-flight tracking with radar: Uneekor's units are camera-based. The outdoor simulator options roundup compares setups that suit outdoor use.
  • If you want no subscription at all: the Uneekor plans are the ongoing cost, even on the free Player tier, which is limited. The launch monitors with no subscription guide covers the alternatives.
  • If your room is shorter than 8 ft: overhead units are out. A floor-based setup is the realistic path. If your ceiling is high enough and you want to compare other makers' overhead systems, the overhead simulator packages from other brands roundup is the place to look.

Uneekor buyers' remaining questions

Can I start with an EYE MINI and move to an overhead unit later?

Yes, in principle. Enclosures, turf and the projector can carry over, but an overhead unit needs ceiling mounting, new cabling and fresh calibration. Check that the enclosure leaves clear space above the hitting area for the sensor position, and confirm with Uneekor that software licences transfer.

Will an overhead Uneekor work if a tall golfer swings driver under a 9-foot ceiling?

Most packages here list a 9 ft minimum ceiling, while the XR SIG8 lists 8 ft, a figure to confirm with the maker. Ceiling sensors sit above the ball, so the club has to clear both the ceiling and the unit. Swing a driver slowly at the hitting spot before you commit to a mounting height.

What happens to my data features if I stop paying for a plan?

The free Player plan keeps core data and range use. Third-party sim play and advanced reports depend on paid plans, so check current Uneekor plan terms before you buy. Budget for a plan or a third-party program such as GSPro.

Can the EYE MINI run without a Windows PC?

The EYE MINI works with the VIEW software on an iPad as well as a PC, which helps outdoors. The EYE MINI LITE needs wired power and a wired PC connection. Most third-party course software expects a Windows PC, so check the PC requirements first.

Do Uneekor packages ship with a projector?

It depends on the package. SwingBay, XO Retractable and XO2 Garage include short-throw projectors, and Performance Optix includes a BenQ LK936ST 4K. The SIG12 and XR SIG8 list the projector as optional, and the EYE MINI Golf Net package uses a net unless you pick the SIGPRO net with its impact screen.
